Christchurch earthquake 4th September 2010

 

1. There was no loss of life because the earthquake was 

                                                                                    shallow and happened early when people were asleep                                                                                      in bed.

2. 6,659 people were injured.

                                                                                    3. Liquefaction - A mixture of mud, sand and water 

                                                                                        that came up from the ground like mini volcanoes.

4. 115 people died when the CTV building 

collapsed.
